Someone Else’s Dream

For years, I've dreamed of those mountains in Montana
The day I'd dip my toes in the Rio Grande
See “Oklahoma” from a front row seat on Broadway
Go anywhere that isn't where I am.

What I didn't know was out in New Mexico
Someone was dreaming just like me.
How great it'd be to see the Smokies
Ride an old-school riverboat down the Tennessee
To get a load of Graceland
And Nashville's not-so-country scene.

I know they're wishing where I am tonight
Tomorrow they might be.
Trade their deserts in an instant
For my rolling hills in Tennessee.

Now, I'm reminiscing on all that I have seen
Yet my travels have not defined me
But all the come-home in between.
So be thankful if you live here
In this grand ole state we're blessed to be,
'Cause every day we're home sweet home
We're living someone else's dream.
