I read. I travel. I write.

When I read, I travel. Some days, I actually leave home. Those are the days I write about.

My adventures run the gamut from grand experiences in America’s National Parks to weekend-warrior discoveries in my own backyard. Along for the ride are the books that inspire me to travel to new places or delve deeper when I come home. These are my travels and the books that accompany me.

Welcome to Pin Drops & Paper Trails.

What I’m Reading

Burning Ground a novel by D.A. Galloway combining time travel, adventure, and romance against the backdrop of Yellowstone National Park

Burning Ground by D.A. Galloway is a story set in the 1970’s about a young teen, Graham Davidson, who carries an unbearable load of heartbreak and guilt. In a search for peace, he travels to the iconic landscape made sacred by violence- Yellowstone National Park.

When Graham awakes from a dream in one of Yellowstone’s thermal valleys, he finds himself transported back in time to the year 1871 and smack in the center of a groundbreaking scientific survey of Yellowstone. The discoveries made by the Hayden Expedition, led by esteemed geologist Ferdinand Hayden, prompted the United States government to name Yellowstone America’s first national park in 1872.

I have a good feeling about this book. Hopefully, I’m right.

When will my next grand adventure begin?
